SEARCH THE BIBLE
Have some Scripture references ready and each child with his Bible. As you call out each Scripture reference, kids will physically search for them in the Bible and recite it out loud.ย The first one to do so wins the round, race to 5!ย
For younger kids, you can choose some Bible stories that they are familiar with and ask them to tell the story in their own words.ย ย
These activities are meant to bring their attention to the Bible.ย God has given us His word, that is the Bible.ย May we learn to steward it well, not just physically but in our hearts as well.ย

You may be wondering why we need to steward Godโs word.ย Paul says in 2 Timothy 2:14-18

In this passage, Paul reminds Timothy to be diligent as Godโs worker and to โcorrectly handle the word of truthโ.ย As followers of Christ, that is also our charge.ย The Bible is Godโs gift to us and we must learn to steward it well and hold it with reverence and care.ย
How?ย By reading, seeking to understand,ย obeying what it says and telling others about it.ย Godโs word is an action book. It is not meant to be read and forgotten. While it is not always easy to read, God invites us to press on and continue seeking Him and to understand his word.ย He invites us to hold on to His truth and not depart from it.ย The more we read and obey, the more He will give us wisdom to understand it and share it with others.ย
