Not by our Ability (Strength)

π—–π—’π—‘π—‘π—˜π—–π—§

This game is called β€œThis or that”. Get the family together and have everyone choose which they love more between two options.Β

Here are some questions you can ask, but feel free to add more:

Rice or bread?

Chocolate or candy?

Coffee or milktea?

Pizza or burgers?

Cats or dogs?

TV or movie?

Online school or onsite school?Β

We may have different answers but we are still one family and the differences in what we love will not matter.Β  That is the lesson for this game - to show that we love each other despite our differences and that Jesus does the same but in a greater capacity.

But that day, she felt different. She had heard about Jesus and in her heart, she had faith and she wondered that β€œmaybe if I just touch his robe, I will get well.”  So she went. What happened was amazing. Her touch did not make Jesus unclean. Her touch healed herself and made her clean.Β

God loves us not because of anything we can do for Him.Β  It is not based on what we can do for Him nor on our strength to do something.Β  Just like how He treated the woman who cannot do anything - God loves us whether we have any abilities or not.Β Β

Parent to Kid/s:

2-6 years old

Do you think your parents love you? Do you love only those who can do something for you? How about those who cannot give you anything in return? Will you love them too?

7-12 years old

Have you ever felt helpless before? Why? How does it feel to know that we (your parents) love you even in those moments?

How can you show love for others who also feel helpless?

Kid/s to Parent:

How do you show love to someone who feels helpless?

Why is it challenging to show love to people like them?

𝗣π—₯𝗔𝗬

Dear God, thank You for loving us despite our helplessness. Thank You for never letting go of us even in the moments we feel weak. Please help us do the same for others. In Jesus' name, amen.Β

β€œAccording to the purity laws of the Old Testament (Leviticus 15:25-27), a person with an issue of blood is to remain quarantined. Also, "Whoever touches those things shall be unclean; he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and be unclean until evening" (verse 27).”

In those days, when an unclean person touched another, the other person also became unclean.Β  But in this story, not only did Jesus not become unclean by the woman’s touch but He made the unclean person clean.Β

Thank You Jesus, for loving us despite everything that we are and what others have dictated upon us.Β  Teach us to love others the way You love us!Β
