The resurrection of Christ is a historical event. Many have witnessed His resurrection and have testified to its reality. His resurrection is essential to the gospel, the foundation of our faith. Today, let us look at what the resurrection of Christ means for us who believe and how it may change the way we live.

The resurrection of Christ is an essential part of the gospel. Without it, the gospel is incomplete and our ๐ง๐ข๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ช๐ด ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ท๐ข๐ช๐ฏโuseless or without value. The gospel would then be a mere fairytale of emotion and imagination. Jewish leaders in Jesusโ time tried to cover up and deny His resurrection because they knew the power of its testimony for those who follow Christ (Matthew 28:13โ14). The resurrection validated the faith of the disciples then, showing them that Jesus is indeed who He said He is. What did Jesus foretell in Matthew 17:22โ23?

If the resurrection is not true, then the gospel is not true. This means that the message we preach is useless and has no impact. What we do for the gospel would also have no purpose and value. It means that those who have suffered for the sake of Christ and His gospel have endured torture, persecution, and even death for nothing. But Jesusโ resurrection is true and has been witnessed by more than 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:6), so we can have confidence that no matter what we face, Godโs word and His promises are ours in Christ. What does John 16:33 say?

The resurrection of Christ assures us that our salvation is sure. We, who have put our trust in Him, are no longer in our sins. His sacrifice was sufficient for our forgiveness. Because He was raised to life, we know that our salvation and redemption are a done deal. In Christ, we can have hope that what we see in this life is not all there is. While we may face death in the future, we will rise again with Him and receive an imperishable, unfading inheritance (1 Peter 3:4). What does Romans 10:10โ11 say about our hope in Christ?

โข Thank God that because of the resurrection of Christ, those who hope in Christ will not be put to shame. Pray that we will live in confidence, knowing that our future in Him is secure.
โข Ask God to help us grow in our understanding of Christโs resurrection and how it affects our lives. Pray for the Holy Spirit to help us live in light of the resurrection.
โข Pray for boldness and perseverance in sharing the gospel to others. Pray that we would take every opportunity to share our testimony to those around us.
